JUPITER FUND
The Portfolio Investment Philosophy:
The Oakleigh Jupiter Fund is launching in Q2 of 2026. We believe that there is a real possibility that equity, bond, property and commodity markets will experience significant market dislocation and volatility over coming years. The Fund is designed to respond strongly when markets experience severe stress. This fund represents a highly concentrated, actively managed portfolio that seeks to turn significant market dislocation and volatility into strong absolute returns over the investment cycle. This is a ‘best ideas for the circumstances’ style fund. We are open minded and focused on possibilities.
Our investment approach is not without discipline: it is based on the long-term real-estate and banking cycles which have historically produced repeated booms and sharp corrections. It is a history that we believe will repeat over time. Trends that inform this fund’s direction: its investment exposures, the risks we take and those we hedge, where we stand long and short, and what overall positioning we take in the face of significant market dislocation and volatility. We use sophisticated investment tools. The portfolio will be geared and could have leverage.
Targeted returns are dependent on significant market dislocation and volatility occurring. More stable markets are more likely to bring subdued performance to the Fund. This should be seen as a very high risk investment, but one that we consider could have appropriate role to play in an overall portfolio. Fund volatility should be expected to be high and at times very high. As with almost all investing, you can lose as well as make money. Neither the capital you invest nor returns are guaranteed. With this fund it is possible that you could lose some or all of your investment.
Although the Fund offers quarterly withdrawals in normal market conditions, this fund is best seen as a long term investment – cycles take time to play out and 5 years or more is recommended. For those who share our views, we believe this investment can offer an effective way to approach periods of uncertainty and opportunity. It is for investors who seek to introduce some measured active tackling of market stress into their portfolios, one designed to form a small portion of their investment portfolio.
